You're totally right! I'm eagerly waiting for a fanless atom netbook! :-)
However, something like the eeepad transformer would be interesting as well... but without windows it might not be so useful for many purposes...

Thanks for this article. I think that the choice of having a laptop or a netbook as a primary computer is a matter of taste really. I like my Dell netbook (www.dell.com/ca/p/inspiron-... and with it being extremely light and protable I can take it with me wherever I go. It's a primary compuer for me.

I'm a big fan of netbooks. I've got two of them all purchased from Dell (www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-.... If I ever had to make a choice between a laptop and a netbook I would definitely choose netbook. It's portable, light and serves equally well as your ordinary laptop.

Thanks for posting that. I'm often thinking I'm the only one seeing the definition as something more general. I've had my fair share of arguments in various blog regarding "netbook" and other words people want to use to describe the same thing.

I generally consider a netbook to be that of screen size less than 12" like you mentioned in your article. Wouldn't really consider the specifications and such to distinguish whether something is or is not a netbook.
